With a stock windscreen that is too narrow, too far away and too short for most riders there is much to fix. We determined early on that any windshield mounted to the stock frame would be at best, a poor compromise. Our engineers developed a unique solution with our "Dual-Angle Optimizers". Changing the angle of the windshield mounts allowed us to design a new Super Tenere windshield that is flatter, substantially wider, while maintaining mirror, hand guard and Yamaha side wind deflector clearance, as well as upward adjustability. The second angle we changed is the tilt. Because the rider is so far away from the stock windshield, the pocket of still air closes on the rider instead of behind. This creates all kinds of havoc with windshield noise, buffeting and turbulence. By tilting the windshield back slightly, the top of the windshield is moved closer to the rider with the added benefit of increasing the space under the windshield and helping to further reduce back pressure. The Rifle Replacement Windshield System for the Yamaha Super Tenere (2014- ) is available in three standard heights, plus custom sizes. RIFLE's clear and tinted Super Tenere replacement windshields are made of D.O.T. approved Lucite L® for better clarity, chemical and scratch resistance. Included with the windshield and "Dual-Angle-Optimizers" are black windshield masks, black fastener covers giving the Rifle system a more finished look.
